Hello everyone!

Also feel free to share with everyone and anyone you have visiting, neighbors, and friends to run on Thanksgiving morning together in our annual Rockshire Shark-Turkey Chase! Here are the details:

What: 9th Annual Shark-Turkey Chase

When: Thursday, November 27 at 9:30am , meet at 9:15am

Where: Meet at the wootton parking lot! We have an adjusted route this year with the construction.

Who: All Shark families, neighbors, and friends

Why: to get moving and have fun on the morning of Thanksgiving together!

***Please also feel free to bring 2 or more canned goods in lieu of an entry fee for the Greg Gannon food drive that supports local food pantries***

The Route: I will put up a couple signs throughout the race. It’s very simple, just three left turns. (course below)

Water Station: The Fuster family has generously volunteered to provide water around the 2 mile mark:) Be on the lookout! :) 

Race Course:

START: At Wootton parking lot (traffic light on wootton). Follow wootton uphill towards Falls Road and take a left on Fallsmead Way. Follow all the way up and turn left on Watts Branch parkway. Follow around until you pass the gas station. Turn left on Hurley. Turn Left onto Wootton Parkway and where we will have our post-race breakfast. If it rains, we will move all breakfast items and instead have our postrace feast in the poolhouse. But the weather looks clear (but a little chilly; layer up!:) )

One last thing:

There are going to be a lot of people running/walking different paces. Please make sure to coordinate with your individual groups if you get split up. I plan on having a few quick runners to run ahead of the group so they will be at the cars at the end of the race to share all the yummy food. The Fusters have generously volunteered to have a water stop a little after mile 2. I will have my cell with me the whole time.

Also, there will be no port-a-pottys, so please use the restroom BEFORE you arrive.
