2. Friday FUNnight- Friday July 11 at 6:45pm- come join the team for a grill out and team activity after practice! We will also be making decorations for PIRC so bring empty boxes and paint! Please sign up on the website to bring an item to help with the grill out or as a side, drink or dessert!

3. A meet away at Lakelands Saturday, July 12. Theme: Royalty/princes/princesses. Be on deck at 7:45 am. Lunch afterwards at Noodles & Co in the Kentlands. Info from the team reps:

Location:Lakelands Pool โ€“ 960 Main Street, Gaithersburg, MD 20878 (located behind the clubhouse)๐Ÿš— Parking:Street parking is available around the pool and clubhouse area. Additional parking can be found two blocks away at Lakelands Park Middle School.๐ŸŠ Team Area:Your team area will be located at the start end of the recreation pool (straight back as you enter through the gate). The area includes shaded lounge chairs, but feel free to bring tents and additional seating if needed.

Lakelands Warm-Ups: 8:00โ€“8:20 AM

Rockshire Warm-Ups: 8:25โ€“8:45 AM

Officials & Stroke & Turn Meeting: 8:30 AM (snack bar near baby pool)

Timers Meeting: 8:40 AM (same location)

Scratch Meeting: 8:50 AM (at the announcerโ€™s table on the competition pool deck)

Meet Start: 9:00 AM

Concessions: Breakfast items and snacks will be available for purchase (cash or Venmo).

4. PIRC relays are Sunday, July 13 at Tally Ho. Be on Deck at 7:45am. Theme: Minecraft. Lunch afterwards at Shake Shack in Cabin John plaza! We will be decorating at Tally Ho either the evening before or morning of our team area; see below for details!

Tallyho is excited to host the Potomac Invitational Relay Carnival (PIRC). I have outlined below what we need from each team to make this a successful relay carnival.

SAME FORMAT AS LAST YEAR:

We are not using timers or relay cards for PIRC. We will have finishing judges determine places 1-6 for each heat of each event and hand out ribbons accordingly. Ribbons will be pre-printed with the event name and slots to write in the members of the relay team receiving that place. Each participating PIRC team will need to provide ribbon writers to write in the names of swimmers from their teams.

MEET START TIME: 9:00 AM

ARRIVAL TIME: You may enter the pool at 7:00am to decorate your team area or the night before anytime between 7-9pm. If you are not decorating your team area, please have those swimmers and families arrive at 745am.

WARM-UP INFORMATION:

8:00 AM to 8:15 AM: Tallyho and Regency Estates

8:15 AM to 8:30 AM Old Farm and Rockshire

8:30 AM to 8:45 AM Inverness

PARTICIPATION:

We recommend that any swimmer who participated in two events (or more) at the A Relay Carnival should not participate in PIRC, but we defer to coachesโ€™ decisions.

EVENTS:

Attached, please find the list of events for PIRC. We must have your relays by noon on 7/11/25 so that we can have the program completed in time for the event! Remind your coaches to email Coach Akshay with their meet sheets.

THEME:

The theme this year is Minecraft. Show your spirit! Dress as any Minecraft character and bring your arts and crafts skills! Map is included below so you have an idea of what area you will be decorating and using for your team area. They are the same as last year, and there will be a trophy for the best decorated team area that can be displayed at your club for the 2025-2026 until next year's event. If you need an individual picture of your team area, I can provide that in a separate email.

FOOD:

We will have a concession stand with breakfast sandwiches, muffins, fruit, coffee, juice, and other snacks for sale.

TEAM AREAS:

Please see the attached map and pictures for reference.

LANE ASSIGNMENTS AND OTHER RELAY INFORMATION

1. Teams will stay in same lanes. At halftime, teams will shift as noted below.

Lane assignments (first half)

Lanes 1 & 2 โ€“ Tallyho

Lane 4 โ€“ Inverness

Lane 5 โ€“ Rockshire

Lane 6 - Old Farm

Other teams may use Lane 2 if requested based on the number of swimmers in an event. Please let us know if you request Lane 2 for a particular event.

2. The fastest relay team goes in the last heat.

3. Some of the distances are shorter than in the MCSL Relay Carnival.

The 11-12 Medley Relay is only a 100m relay and not a 200m relay.

The 9-10 Free Relay is only a 100m relay and not a 200m relay.

The end relay is only a 150m relay and not a 175m relay, with 8 & unders swimming a 25, 9-10s swimming a 25 (starting at shallow end in water), 11-12s swimming a 50, and 13-14s swimming a 50.

4. 100m Medley Relays will start in the shallow end, with back and fly doing in-water starts.

5. 100m Free Relay will start in the deep end, with swimmers 2 and 4 doing in-water starts

6. Mixed relays can have 3 swimmers of the same gender.

WHAT WE NEED FROM EACH TEAM:

Ribbon writers: several people to write and hand out ribbons won by that team

Printouts of names and relays for each heat for the finishing judge to write down places

Finishing place judge: 1 person to help determine finishing placements for each heat

Coaches/parents to line up kids before their events

CHEERING AND SCORING:

Please know that Tallyho (and the MCSL) has a no-negative cheer policy.

This event should be fun and positive for all swimmers. For this reason, we don't keep score.
