June 16-July 19:

Mornings:

**June 16 and 17 only 1 morning practice will be offered and is for all swimmers from 10-11am**

11 & Up: 8:45-10:00AM

10 & Under: 10:00 - 10:50AM

Afternoons:

11 & Up: 4:15 - 5:15 PM

9-10: 5:15 - 6:00 PM

8 & Under: 6:00 -6:45 PM

LOCATION

Montgomery Square Copenhaver Swim Club is located at 12300 Falls Road, Potomac, MD, 20854.

PARKING

Parking is available in our pool lot. Overflow parking can be found in the neighborhood across Falls Road. Note that this is a busy road. There is a pedestrian crosswalk. We do ask our members to limit their vehicles to one per family or walk to the pool.

LOGISTICS

  • Team Area: Your team area is by the sports courts, behind the diving boards.
  • Clerk of Course: Located near the diving board/slide, near the well.
  • Automation and Awards: Located underneath the deck, near our entrance.

TIMER LANE ASSIGNMENTS

Please assign two of your timers to Lanes 1, 3, and 5 and one of your timers to Lanes 2, 4, and 6.

PROGRAM

We will send you the final meet program by Wednesday afternoon to distribute to your parents. QR codes will be posted on deck. We will provide hard copies for coaches, reps, officials, and key volunteers.

CONCESSIONS

Concessions will be available on Wednesday evening offering water, Gatorade, sodas, pizza, and a few other light snacks.

VOLUNTEER HOSPITALITY

There will be refreshments for meet volunteers during halftime. Please ask your volunteers to bring a refillable water bottle to use during the meet. Our water fountain has a bottle filling station.

***Join us for ice cream at Baskin Robbins in Park Potomac plaza next to Walgreens after the meet!

4. Friday FUNnight! Friday, June 20 at 6:45pm. Tie Dye Night!!! A fun night of team activities returns! We invite you and your family to join us after practices for dinner at the pool. Please sign up on the website under the Friday FUNight event for what you are bringing; drinks, dinner, dessert-its all there and needed for our hungry swimmers and families! It is our tie dye night and instructions are as follows:

Please bring one white t-shirt* (per swimmer) AND a gallon sized zip lock bag. Shirts need to be labeled with your swimmers first name/last initial.

Before tie dying (or after once the shirt is washed and dried), your swimmer is invited to decorate their shirt further using a permanent marker/Sharpie.

The activity will take place in the grassy area outside the pool entrance.

Drop off your shirts starting at 4:15.

*A limited number of white shirts will be for sale for $5. (Correct change ONLY)

Directions for care after shirts come out of the tie dye:

  • Place t-shirt into a ziploc bag.
  • Keep in bag for the next 24 hours.
  • Remove from bag and rinse under cold water until the water comes out clear OR
  • Put in washing machine (not with your whites!!!) and wash on cold.
  • Dry and wear to the meet on Wednesday!

5. A Meet HOME vs. Willows of Potomac. Theme: Pajama Party. Be on deck at 7:45am. Lunch afterwards will be at Poyoteca in Fallsgrove Plaza.

The timeline for the meet is as follows:

Rockshire warm-ups: 8:00-8:20 AM

Willows warm-ups: 8:20-8:40 AM

Officials’ meetings: 8:30 AM

Scratch meeting: 8:45 AM

Meet starts: 9:00 AM

6. Join the team for a movie outing on June 24th at 7pm! We are going to see How to train your Dragon at the Regal Cinemas in downtown rockville. You can purchase tickets ahead here: How to Train Your Dragon

8. Looking for something fun to do during the long weekend? We will be taking a team trip to Hershey Park on July 6! If you haven’t yet bought your ticket through the team, additional tickets can be bought here: Hershey Park trip link. Families will be responsible for their own food, parking, and accommodations if desired. Further details will be forthcoming. ***If you bought your tickets prior to May 30th through the team, we will be printing out your tickets for your family and have them for you on June 27 at Friday FunNIght.
