1. B meet AWAY at Old Farm on Wednesday, July 3. Theme: USA! Please be on deck by 4:45pm to walk in as a team! The program will be coming out later today. Preteam kickboard races will occur before the start of the meet. ***We still are in need of at least 3 timers for the meet***

PARKING

We have two different lots. An upper lot by the pool, and a lower lot on the grass by our paddle tennis courts. Parking is also available along the inbound lane only of Swim Club Way, and overflow parking is available at the Faith United Methodist Church if necessary. HERE is a parking guide in case a visual is helpful.

TEAM & OTHER AREAS

  • Visiting teams have the artificial turf area at the far end of the pool by the basketball court that will have some chairs, but feel free to bring your own portable chairs if you wish.
  • The clerk of course will be on the artificial turf on the other side of the walkway next to the volleyball court, adjacent to your team area. To minimize cross-traffic in our race start area, we ask all swimmers to please go around the pool to enter clerk of course by the diving well.
  • We have a pavilion area that will house automation and ribbons (Please bring finisher ribbons for your swimmers if you use them. We will provide 1st-6th place ribbons).
  • We will have printed meet programs for the coaches and officials, but will not be selling them onsite.

CONCESSIONS

We run a full concession stand by the visiting team area that will have pizza, chick-fil-a sandwiches, and a variety of snacks & beverages available for purchase- Please give us an estimated count of your attending swimmers so we can plan accordingly.

  • We will take cash or Venmo w/ $5 minimum purchase
  • Food and drinks will be provided for officials & timers.

Also, parents please join us at Quincy’s in Potomac Woods plaza after the meet for some hang out time

2. Come join us for lunch after the meet this week on Saturday at Chipotle in Fallsgrove plaza. Its a great time to hang out with the team!

3. Firecracker relays on Thursday, July 4 at 9am at Rockshire! Come Join us for a fun practice of wacky relays followed by breakfast for the team and families. This is a great, fun way to get the Fourth of July started!

4. Sharks fundraiser: Concession sales on July 4 at the pool! What a better way to spend the fourth of July than hanging out at the pool? We will be selling concessions from 2-5pm including burgers, hot dogs, snacks and drinks. Come out to hang out and support your Sharks! We also still need a few volunteers to sign up to help sell food; it's an easy way to hang out by the pool and a guaranteed spot in the shade:)

5. Friday July 5: Friday FUNnight: Join us for pasta night and a team activity after dinner! Don’t forget to sign up here to bring something to share!

6. A Meet HOME Saturday, July 6 vs Garrett Park. Theme: Senior citizens. A reminder that it is our senior meet and we will be honoring all seniors at this meet. Be on deck at 7:45am! ***We are still in need of 2 stroke and turn judges and a timer for this meet*** Join us for lunch afterwards at Chipotle in Fallsgrove plaza.

7. Coaches Long Course meet on Tuesday, July 9 at Rockville Swim Center. Congratulations to all of our swimmers who made the long course meet! In order to support our swimmers and provide the opportunity for all to check out a great meet, we will have an altered practice schedule on Tuesday, July 9. Stay tuned for details; we also encourage you to come to the Long course meet!

8. Team movie: Despicable Me 4 on Thursday, July 11- both preteam and the regular team and families are invited for a team movie night! We will be going to see Despicable Me 4 on Thursday, July 11 after practice. The time and location (either Rockville or Rio cinemas) will be sent out in the next email to allow for advanced purchase tickets. 

9. Six Flags team bonding trip Monday, July 15! Join the team for a day of fun at the park! ***Signups are on the bulletin board at the pool.*** Details will be forthcoming; we usually leave Rockshire around 10am and return by 6pm. There will be no practice or preteam on Monday July 15; come with us to Six Flags!

13. Swim team awards banquet: Sunday, July 21. We will celebrate all of our regular swim team with our yearly awards banquet. Please be sure to RSVP for your family and sign up to bring a dish to share. Thank you!
