3. Saturday, June 29- A meet AWAY at Daleview. Theme: Olympics!! Swimmers be on deck at 7:45am. Team lunch afterwards at Ledo’s in Traville shopping center. Come join us after the meet! ***We are still in need of a starter, and timer for this meet. ***Location: Our pool’s address is 901 Daleview Dr., Silver Spring, MD 20901. Parking: When your families arrive at the Daleview Pool on Saturday morning, they can park in our parking lot or at Montgomery Knolls Elementary (only about 100 yards further). Please warn your members to pay attention to the no parking signs on Daleview Dr in front of the pool -- cars are likely to be ticketed. Disabled parking is available down the driveway (it says “Do Not Enter” but it is ok to drive down)
Seating: When your team arrives, swimmers can head to the back of our pool (the starting end). It is shady at that end but there is room for a tent if you would like to bring one. Spectators can bring a blanket and sit on our grassy hill (very good view of the pool) or at picnic tables (which have built-in seating). We will have lounge chairs for swimmers to share but they may want to bring a few extra chairs.
Warmup Times: We will turn the pool over to your team for warm ups from 8:30 - 8:50 am.
Concessions: Our Daleview Diner will be open during the meet and will serve a variety of breakfast foods including egg sandwiches, fruit, hot coffee, Vietnamese iced coffee, bagels, and muffins. After half-time, the Diner will begin serving lunch fare including beef and veggie burgers, hot dogs, fresh fruit, and chips
Schedule:
o Officials: 8:20am at the baby pool
o Timer briefing at 8:40am at the back of the pool by the sheds, and
o Scratch meeting at 8:45am at the baby pool
4. Sunday, June 30- Relay Carnival at Olney Mill! Theme: Tie Dye! Swimmers be on deck at 7:45 am. Team lunch afterwards at Poyoteca in Fallsgrove plaza. Come join us for lunch after relay carnival!
Parking is permitted on all surrounding streets/roads
TEAM AREAS: See attached rough map of team areas, which will be taped off with caution tape, and will include a few tables and chairs. Teams on the grass (spots 1-4) may wish to bring tents as that side of the pool starts out half shady but is sunny by about 9:30am. You may also wish to have your swimmers bring chairs. Areas were selected as follows:
- Rockshire – third grassy area, to the left of PW
CONCESSIONS: Coffee, sodas/drinks, snacks, breakfast sandwiches and other items for sale in the baby pool area. Cash, credit, Venmo accepted. PLEASE NOTE: the baby pool itself is CLOSED, meaning no wading or swimming in it by anyone.
SPECTATOR SEATING: On pool deck in front of guardhouse, between starter at deep end and backstroke flags at shallow end, will be three rows of seating. Please advise your families to NOT set-up their own chairs in this area, as timers will need the space to switch from deep end to shallow end. Additional spectator seating is available behind the diving board up to the area behind the lanes, which will be closed off so only swimmers can go behind the deep end lanes.
5. B meet AWAY at Old Farm on Wednesday, July 3. Theme: USA! Please be on deck by 4:45pm to walk in as a team
6. Firecracker relays on Thursday, July 4 at 9am at Rockshire! Come Join us for a fun practice of wacky relays followed by breakfast for the team and families. This is a great, fun way to get the Fourth of July started!
7. Sharks fundraiser: Concession sales on July 4 at the pool! What a better way to spend the fourth of July than hanging out at the pool? We will be selling concessions from 2-5pm including burgers, hot dogs, snacks and drinks. Come out to hang out and support your Sharks! We also still need a few volunteers to sign up to help sell food; its an easy way to hang out by the pool and a guaranteed spot in the shade:
