What a great first A meet Saturday! Way to go everyone! We also have  Friday fun-night with tie dye and our first preteam kickboard races at this Wednesday's meet. Can't wait to see our youngest sharks in the water!

Swim Team practice will switch to its summer schedule on Monday June 17 2024.

June 17-July 19:

Mornings:

11 & Up: 8:45-10:00AM

10 & Under: 10:00 - 10:50AM

Afternoons:

11 & Up: 4:15 - 5:15 PM

9-10: 5:15 - 6:00 PM

8 & Under: 6:00 -6:45 PM

Pre-team practices will begin on Monday June 17, 2024 ( TODAY) meet on deck tonight at the beginning of the session you registered for!

2. Movie hang out with the coaches: the 13&up age groups will be seeing Inside Out 2 at Regal Cinema in Rockville Town Center at 12:20pm on Wednesday, June 19. Feel free to purchase tickets in advance or at the theater. Come and join your coaches for a fun afternoon before the meet!

3. Wednesday, June 19- B meet at HOME vs Montgomery Square. Theme: Hawaiian! Be on deck at 4:45pm. ***If you have not RSVPed to the meet by tonight, we cannot include them in the program. Please be sure to RSVP to the meet on the website!

***Volunteers still needed to run the meet: 3 timers for beginning and end*** Please sign up on the website and make sure that your signup is accurate!

5:00-5:20 Home team warm up

5:20 Stroke and Turn Officials Briefing with the Referee

5:20-5:40 Visiting team warm up

5:30 Timers Briefing with the Head Timer and Starter

5:45 IMs called to the blocks/National Anthem

5:55 kickboard races start, followed by IM

4. FRIDAY FUN NIGHT! - This Friday, June 21 we will have our Annual Tie Dye Event!

Please bring one white t-shirt* (per swimmer) AND a gallon sized zip lock bag. Shirts need to be labeled with your swimmers first name/last initial.

Before tie dying (or after once the shirt is washed and dried), your swimmer is invited to decorate their shirt further using a permanent marker/Sharpie.

The activity will take place in the grassy area outside the pool entrance.

Drop off your shirts starting at 4:15.

*A limited number of white shirts will be for sale for $5. (Correct change ONLY)

Directions for care after shirts come out of the tie dye:

• Place t-shirt into a ziploc bag.
• Keep in bag for the next 24 hours.
• Remove from bag and rinse under cold water until the water comes out clear OR
• Put in washing machine (not with your whites!!!) and wash on cold.
• Dry and wear to the meet on Wednesday!

5. Saturday, June 22- A meet AWAY vs Olney Mill. Theme: Western! Be on deck at 7:45am. Please RSVP your swimmer by Tuesday, June 18.

6. Did you know: you can sign up for all of the meets you are attending NOW? You MUST RSVP to all meets whether or not you are attending. You MUST RSVP for ALL A meets on the TUESDAY prior to the meet, and ALL B meets on the SUNDAY prior to the meet. Here is a quick how-to:

1. Go to the “Meets and events” tab on the task bar. Or simply click on the event on the homepage that is on the right
2. Click on the green button that says “meet entry”
3. Fill out your availability for the meet
4. Leave any notes you need to for coaches
5. Repeat for every meet!

7. Shark Gear and Suits! Don’t delay! In preparation for summer, we have shark gear available via squadlocker here. The team swimsuit is the same as the past two years and can be purchased through swimoutlet found here

11. It’s back! Grownupswimming in the MCSL: By popular demand, there will be a swim team for grownups! Details on registration will follow and meets will be on Sundays. We have had several grownup members of the Rockshire community participate and looking forward to another fun season!
