Hello Rockshire Sharks!

Congrats to everyone on our final dual meet this weekend and a fun time and strong showing at PIRC! We’re down to one week of Swim Team!

1.A friendly reminder that because of the Six Flags trip today, we will NOT have any practice OR preteam this afternoon.

2. Practice for the regular team this week is for divisionals swimmers only and will be as follows on Tuesday-Friday:

Morning: 11&up- 8:45am-10am, 10&under 10 am-10:50am

Afternoon: 11& up- 4:30pm-5:30pm, 10&under 5:30pm-6:15pm

Preteam will run as normally scheduled. There will be preteam on Wednesday as well.

3. FRIDAY FUN NIGHT! -This Friday we will have a grill out after practice! Since both of our grill outs have been cancelled due to weather, we will try again this Friday for our divisionals send-off! Everyone- swim team and preteam- is welcome and encouraged to attend! There will be a fun team event run by the coaches between dinner and dessert. Please sign up to bring something to eat on the website by Thursday. Please also pick up your team picture if you didn't get it on Wednesday. You can sign up under the jobs button for the event in “meets and events”. Please sign up so we have enough food and drink for everyone:)

4. Divisionals are Saturday July 22 at Regency Estates (11511 Gainsborough Rd, Potomac, MD 20854). Theme: Green out. Be on Deck at 6:45am. Details to follow; t shirts will be sold AT the pool- no preorder this year! Details are still being ironed out and will be sent on Thursday-Stay tuned!

5. This year’s minimeet will be on Sunday, July 23 from 8:30-9:30am. Minimeet is for all preteamers and preteam coaches. Families are all welcome to come to cheer on our preteam swimmers and for awards afterwards! Please RSVP in swimtopia for this event.

6. Rockshire Swimathon will be on Sunday, July 23 from 9:45am-11:45am. This is a great way we can show the Shark community our support! Please fill out the form in the link so we know how many are planning to attend. For more details on the swimathon, please see this link and please share it with neighbors and friends!

7. Save the Date! Our team banquet will be at 4:30pm on Sunday, July 23 at North Potomac Community center. This event is for the swim team and their families only; awards will be given out by the coaches and we will see our summer slideshow! Please RSVP on the team website. We will be serving pizza and cake, and we will also have a signup to bring some pasta dishes and salads. Please sign up in job list on the website.

8. All Stars- congratulations to all who made all star times! All star relays will be Saturday, July 29, and individual events will be Sunday, July 30 at the Rockshire Swim Center (355 Martins Lane, Rockville, MD). After divisionals, we will send out information on who made all star times and the procedure for the scratches. Scratches will be due July 24 at 9pm. We will also have practice in the afternoon for swimmers attending all stars (both relay and individual) the week prior to the meet. More details to follow!
