Hello Rockshire Sharks!

Kudos to all of our preteam kickers and last B meet last night! Way to go! We are heading down with just about a week and a half left….let’s finish this season STRONG like a SHARK!

1. FRIDAY FUN NIGHT! -This Friday we will have a grill out after practice! There will be a fun team event run by the coaches between dinner and dessert. Please sign up to bring something to eat on the website by Thursday. Please also pick up your team picture if you didn't get it on Wednesday. You can sign up under the jobs button for the event in “meets and events”. Please sign up so we have enough food and drink for everyone:)

2.  Saturday, July 15- A meet HOME vs Daleview ***Senior meet***. Theme: Halloween in July. Be on deck at 7:45am. Meet details below. Please RSVP by Tuesday, July 11 in Swimtopia! Team lunch afterward at Poyoteca in Fallsgrove plaza! We will be honoring our seniors at halftime!

Timeline:

Rockshire warm-ups: 8:00-8:20 AM

Daleview warm-ups: 8:20-8:40 AM

Officials’ meetings: 8:30 AM

Scratch meeting: 8:45 AM

Meet starts: 9:00 AM

All volunteers will receive a reminder email on Friday for the meet. If you cannot make it or have any questions about your assignment, please let us know ASAP.

3.  Sunday, July 16- PIRC relays AWAY at Tally Ho (8650 Bells Mill Road Potomac, Maryland 20854). Theme: Tie dye. Be on Deck at 7:45 am and RSVP by Tuesday, July 11 in Swimtopia. This meet is a meet full of relays only so it is a little shorter and a blast! We have also opened up volunteer positions in swimtopia that we will need to fill for this meet. Please sign up by Thursday! Warmup will be at 8:15am. There will also be a parent and coaches relay. If you are interested in participating in the parent relay, please let us know!

4.   A Rockshire tradition! We will head to Six Flags on Monday, July 17 for a fun team bonding day instead of team practice. We will meet in the Giant parking lot at 9:30am. Signup is on the team bulletin board at the pool. Join for a fun day at the park with the swim team! Today is the LAST day to signup at the pool; all details for the Six flags trip will be sent out to all on the list in an email later this evening.

5.  Divisionals are Saturday July 22 at Regency Estates. Theme: Green out. Be on Deck at 6:45am. Details to follow; t shirts will be sold AT the pool- no preorder this year! Volunteer positions will be needed and are opened up at this time. We will need a stroke and turn judge, clerk of course, timers, automation verifier and take off judge. We will also need an assistant head/head timer. Please sign up! We will have a Friday night team night prior as well to get pumped up for our last meet! Stay tuned!

If you have pictures from this summer swim team and want to see your swimmer in the slideshow, please upload them into the team drive here. *** Seniors, please upload your photos into this folder: Senior folder. These photos will help to make the slideshow at the end of the year.

7. This year’s minimeet will be on Sunday, July 23 from 8:30-9:30am. Minimeet is for all preteamers and preteam coaches. Families are all welcome to come to cheer on our preteam swimmers and for awards afterwards! Please RSVP in swimtopia for this event.

8. Rockshire Swimathon will be on Sunday, July 23 from 9:45am-11:45am. For more details on the swimathon, please see this link and please share it with neighbors and friends!

9. Save the Date! Our team banquet will be at 4:30pm on Sunday, July 23 at North Potomac Community center. This event is for the swim team and their families only; awards will be given out by the coaches and we will see our summer slideshow! Please RSVP on the team website.
