Our swimmers were looking FAST at the B meet last night! Keep up the great work! Also, we have a week loaded with Shark FUN!

1.   Did you know: you can sign up for all of the meets you are attending NOW? You MUST RSVP to all meets whether or not you are attending. You MUST RSVP for ALL A meets on the TUESDAY prior to the meet, and ALL B meets on the SUNDAY prior to the meet. Here is a quick how-to:

1. Go to the “Meets and events” tab on the task bar. Or simply click on the event on the homepage that is on the right
2. Click on the green button that says “meet entry”
3. Fill out your availability for the meet
4. Leave any notes you need to for coaches
5. Repeat for every meet! Do them all NOW to save time later

2.  FRIDAY FUN NIGHT! -This Friday we will have our annual tie dye event night with a potluck! ***We will also need some additional volunteers to help spray paint shirts and help tie dye*** please sign up!. Also, please sign up to bring something to eat on the website by Thursday. Please also pick up your team picture if you didn't get it on Wednesday. You can sign up under the jobs button for the event in “meets and events”. Please sign up so we have enough food and drink for everyone:)

Tie Dye instructions:

Please bring one white t-shirt* (per swimmer) AND a gallon sized zip lock bag. Shirts need to be labeled with your swimmers first name/last initial.

Before tie dying (or after once the shirt is washed and dried), your swimmer is invited to decorate their shirt further using a permanent marker/Sharpie.

The activity will take place in the grassy area outside the pool entrance.

Drop off your shirts starting at 4:15.

*A limited number of white shirts will be for sale for $5. (Correct change /venmo ONLY)

Directions for care after shirts come out of the tie dye:

• Place t-shirt into a ziploc bag.
• Keep in bag for the next 24 hours.
• Remove from bag and rinse under cold water until the water comes out clear OR
• Put in washing machine (not with your whites!!!) and wash on cold.
• Dry and wear to the meet on Wednesday!

3.   Saturday, July 1- A meet HOME vs Little Falls. Theme: Canada Day. Be on deck at 7:45am. Please RSVP by Tuesday, June 27 in Swimtopia! We will have lunch at Ledo’s pizza in the Traville shopping area after the meet. ere is the meet flow:

Timeline:

Rockshire warm-ups: 8:00-8:20 AM

Little Falls warm-ups: 8:20-8:40 AM

Officials’ meetings: 8:30 AM

Scratch meeting: 8:45 AM

Meet starts: 9:00 AM

All volunteers will receive a reminder email on Friday for the meet. If you cannot make it or have any questions about your assignment, please let us know ASAP.

4. Firecracker relays on July 4! Please join us for a morning of fun relays and spirit followed by a light breakfast on deck for all. Swimmers be on deck at 9am and breakfast will follow. This event is for the regular team only. There is no preteam on July 4 or afternoon practice but…

5.   Fourth of July fundraiser! Hang out at the pool and support the team by getting a burger, hot dog, and snacks. We will be selling concessions on the fourth of July from 12-4pm at the pool. Tell your neighbors to come by, hang out and support the team:)

6.   B Meet HOME vs Old Farm Wednesday, July 5. Theme: Western. Be on deck at 4:45pm. RSVP by Sunday July 2. More details to follow!

7.  The Banquet is approaching and we have a lot of people working behind the scenes already! Thank you! However, we are in need of a day-of contact and coordinator of the banquet. If you like telling people where to go and what to do (cake here, tablecloths there!) Please sign up to help out! You can find the signup in the event in swimtopia or email us.

8. Pictures to share! If you have pictures from this summer swim team, please upload them into the team drive here. These photos will help to make the slideshow at the end of the year.

9. A Rockshire tradition! We will head to Six Flags on Monday, July 17 for a fun team bonding day instead of team practice. Stay tuned for signup and details!

10. Shark Gear! Don’t delay! In preparation for summer, we will have the same suits as last year. You can buy them HERE. we also have shark gear available via squadlocker here

11. MCSL Adult swim league: The MCSL is organizing an adult swim league this summer after the 18U league is over. Details will be released as they are available, and minimal volunteering will be necessary. The league will be organized through the DMV chapter of Grown up swimming.
